18th World Athletics Championships at Eugene / 15 – 24.07.2022

Medal Tally
athletes from 45 countries won medals incl. 29 countries (more than ever before !!) with Gold medallists;
-athletes from Asian Athletics Member Federations won 15 medals (incl. 5 Gold) / once again the Walkers
were the most successful participants with 5 medals (3 for JPN & 2 for CHN) in their 4 events;
-5 Gold Medals was the 2nd best score by athletes from ASIAN AA Federations in the history of the World
Championships (next to the best result with 7 Gold medals at Doha)

athletes from 43 countries won medals incl. 20 countries with Gold medallists;
athletes from Asian Athletics Member Federations won 17 medals (incl. 7 Gold) as their highest score
ever at IAAF World Championships, since athletes from ASIAN AA Member Federations had never before
won more than 4 Gold medals and never won more than 16 medals – esp. thanks to the outstanding results by
very successful female walkers from CHN (2 Gold; 2 Silver & 1 Bronze) and male walkers from JPN (winner
of both Men events)
