
The East Asian U20 Athletics Championships is officially underway in Hong Kong from 27 to 28 September 2025.
The event brings together over 200 young athletes and 90 officials from 7 East Asian countries, showcasing the region’s top emerging talent in track and field.
Organised under the East Asian Athletics Association (EAAA), these Championships aim to promote youth development in athletics and strengthen sporting ties across East Asia.


EAAA also held its Council and Congress meetings in Hong Kong.
The Council Meeting and Congress was chaired by Ms. Wang Nan, President of EAAA.
AA President Gen. Dahlan attended the Meetings and in his remark thanked Ms. Wang Nan for the excellent conduct of the Council Meeting and Congress, and expressed appreciation to HKAAA for hosting the East Asian U20 Athletics Championships.
He emphasized the importance of out-of-stadium events to attract the new generation to athletics and ensure the sport’s growth and development.
AA President also informed the Congress about the new athlete entry standards set by AA, which will take effect from the 2027 Asian Championships. He encouraged all member countries to prepare and adapt to these new standards to elevate the level of competition across Asia.
