Results from ASIA 2023 – 15

KOREA

20th Asian U20/Junior Champs at Yecheon / 04. – 07.06.2023

these Continental Championships for Junior/U120 athletes (born 2004 or later) were held with participants from 24 countries; unfortunately 21 ASIAN AA Member Federations didn´t enter athletes at all 

medals were won by athletes from 16 of these countries, but only 9 countries were able to win at least one title,

because the “big” countries participated with strong teams (on the TOP of the Medal Tally JAPAN with 23 medals – 14 Gold, 4 Silver & 5 Bronze – followed by CHINA ( 11 + 5 + 3 = 19 medals) and INDIA (6 + 7 + 6

= 19 medals)

following is a review with explanations concerning all major performances such as

-all medallists

– Championships Records (= CR) were improved in 3 events (Junior Men 400 m hurdles & Pole Vault and

  Mixed 4×400 m R);  all other CR´s (i.e.as at before and after these Champs) are shown in the “Record History”

  after the results for each event)

– in addition the list includes all athletes, who achieved Asian Junior 2023 Best Performances (= AJrL 2023

  in 15 events incl. a World Junior 2023 Best in W/10000 m Walk), Asian Youth 2023 Best Performances

  (= AYL 2023 by few Youth athletes in 5 events) and new records (7 National Senior Records =  NR;

  various National Junior Records = NJR as well as few National Youth Records = NYR – (NYR only

  valued and shown where achieved under Youth standards), which are based upon the NJR- and NYR-data in

  the excellent Statistics Handbooks for the Junior & the earlier Youth  Champs (edited and distributed by
