Competition Info / Decisions from Asian AA & World Athletics 

In addition to several earlier major competitions the following scheduled 2022 championships (all in China) 

had to be cancelled due to the COVID -19 situation:

-the 19th Asian Games at Hangzhou, scheduled for 10 – 25th  Sep 2022

-the 3rd Asian Youth Games at Shantou, scheduled for 20-28th Dec 2022

and the major International competitions 

-the Diamond League Meetings at Shanghai, scheduled for 30th July 2022, and at Shenzhen, scheduled for

 6th Aug 2022

-the World University Games at Shengdu

same as each year there was a great depth of excellent performances achieved at the WANDA DIAMOND LEAGUE Meeting  incl. 3 Championships Records (= CR / one of them equalled) and New World 2022 Leading results in 5 events  / due to the bad weather with partly very strong wind conditions Men´s Pole Vault event had to be postponed and was held one day later (14th May) indoors

31st Southeast Asian Games at Hanoi / 14. – 19.05.2022

following are the results for ALL medallists plus few addit. best performances & all other national records 

(= overall 23 NR´s) from the athletics events at these Regional Games for different sports /  

excellent performances incl. new Games Records (= GR) in 8 events were achieved, although the times in Middle/Long distance races were rather slow due to the weather conditions during these days /

wind-readings for Women´s TJ are not (yet ? – since 1st day) available, but surely regular wind overall (as in all other sprint events until now) / 

names of runners in 4×100 m & 4×400 m Relays for some teams are not (yet ?) reported  /

Puripol Boonson, the young sprint sensation from Thailand (born 13 Jan 2006) with three Gold medals (100 m, 200 m & 4×100 m Relay) and Nguyen Thi Oanh from Vietnam with three Gold medals (at 1500 m, 5000 m & 3000 m Steeple) were the TOP stars at these Games, which had to be postponed from 2021 to 2022 /
