EJ Obiena of the Philippines had a record breaking outing at the 17th Golden Roof Challenge in Innsbruck, Austria on September 11th 2021.
The EJ Obiena, a 25 years old Pilipino. set a new Asian Record and also a meet record of 5.93m. in the Men Pole Vault competition smashing Kazakhstan’s Igor Potapovich since 1998. He also broke his Personal and National Record which he has achieved at the Paris Diamond League last month.
Ej Obiena is the son of former Philippines Pole Vaulter, Emerson Obiena and Former university hurdling athlete and current ITO, Jeanette Obiena.
