Asian Athletics Delegation Completes Successful Site Visit to Gumi, Korea for 2025 Asian Athletics Championships

Gumi, Korea – June 1, 2024 – The Asian Athletics (AA) successfully completed the site visit to Gumi, Korea, in preparation for the upcoming Asian Athletics Championships scheduled for May 2025.
The visit took place from May 28 to May 30, 2024,during the three-day visit, the AA delegation led by President Gen. Dahlan Al Hamad conducted a thorough inspection of the facilities that will host the prestigious event. The tour began with a comprehensive review of the main competition venue, the Gumi Stadium.The stadium’s state-of-the-art track, field facilities, and spectator amenities were evaluated to ensure they align with the AA’s standards for athlete performance and fan experience.


In addition to the stadium, the delegation inspected the designated team hotels where athletes and officials will be accommodated. The focus was on ensuring that the accommodations provide a comfortable and conducive environment for rest and preparation.


The delegation was impressed with the quality of the facilities and the warm hospitality extended by the local organizers. Gen.Dahlan Al-Hamad expressed his satisfaction with the progress made in Gumi, stating, “We are very pleased with the preparations we have seen here in Gumi. The facilities are excellent, and we are confident that the 2025 Asian Athletics Championships will be a resounding success. “Our visit to Gumi has been extremely productive. The detailed inspections have allowed us to identify areas that need attention and to collaborate with the local organizing committee to ensure everything is in place for the Championships.


Secretary General Mr. A Shuggumarran highlighted the importance of the site visit in ensuring a seamless event. We are excited to bring this premier event to Gumi and are confident that it will be a memorable experience for all participants.”
The Asian Athletics Championships in May 2025 is expected to attract athletes from across the continent, showcasing the best in Asian track and field talent. The AA’s site visit marks a significant milestone in the countdown to the event, reaffirming its commitment to delivering an outstanding championship in Gumi, Korea.
