these champs were a very successful event for the Chinese walkers, who won 6 (out of the 12) Gold medals as well as 7 other medals, while Japan earned at least 1 of the remaining 6 Gold together with 2 Silver medals and India as the other Asian country with a Bronze medal (see full Medal Tally below) and the host country, Oman, competed for the first time ever in Walking competition
