Doha, April 19, 2019 : Mr. Dahlan Al-Hamad, President of Asian Athletics Association chaired last meeting of the current council in Doha (19th April) in the presence of Mr. Sebastian Coe, President IAAF. 45 Asian Athletics Member Federations will elect new governing council tomorrow (20th April 2019) in Doha during the 23rd Asian Athletics Association Congress.
Council went through reports of recently concluded Asian 20KM Walking Championship in Nomi (Japan) and Asian Youth Athletics Championship in Hong Kong.
Council also reviewed financials of the AAA for the past 2 years. Council will put forward constitutional amendments proposed by JAAF to the Congress for approval.
Today’s meeting was also significant as Mr. Maurice Nicholas, Secretary Treasurer of Asian Athletics Association since inception of the association since 1973 attended his last meeting as Secretary.
