50th Taiwan Athletics Open Celebrates Milestone with Distinguished Guests and Record Performances.

Taipei, Taiwan – June 5, 2024

The 50th edition of the Taiwan Athletics Open, held on June 1 and 2, 2024, in Taipei, Taiwan, marked a historic milestone in the region’s athletic history. This prestigious event, first inaugurated in 1974, brought together athletes from across Asia to compete in a spirit of excellence and camaraderie.

The event was graced by the presence of esteemed officials from the Asian Athletics (AA). Attending the milestone event were AA President Gen. Dahlan Al Hamad, Senior Vice President Surapong Ariyamongkol, and Secretary General A Shuggumarran. Their presence underscored the significance of the Taiwan Athletics Open in the Asian athletics calendar and highlighted the commitment of the AA to fostering athletic talent and competition across the continent.

The opening welcome dinner, a highlight of the event, was attended by the President of Taiwan, His Excellency Lai Ching Te. His Excellency’s attendance was a testament to the importance of athletics in promoting unity and excellence in Taiwan and the broader Asian community.

Key meetings were held during the event. AA officials met with Mr. Yeh Chen-Yen, President of the Chinese Taipei Athletics Association. Additionally, productive discussions took place with Dr. Shih-Chung Cheng (James), the Director General of the Sports Administration, MOE ROC Taiwan.

Over the two days of intense competition, athletes delivered outstanding performances, setting new records and achieving personal bests. The Taiwan Athletics Open continues to serve as a platform for athletes to showcase their skills and push the boundaries of athletic performance.

Speaking at the event, AA President Gen.
